Santa Clara, California – (The Hosting News) – March 15, 2009 – Sun Microsystems, Inc.’s next CommunityOne developer conference at the Moscone Center in San Francisco, is scheduled to take place from June 1-3, 2009.

Growing in popularity since its launch in San Francisco in 2007, this is the third annual developer conference. There is no charge to attend CommunityOne on Monday, June 1, with only a nominal fee to attend the deep technology sessions on June 2 and 3. All CommunityOne attendees will receive free access to the JavaOne conference general sessions and Pavilion on Tuesday 2 June through Thursday 4 June 2009.

Julian Edwards, Conference manager for CommunityOne from Sun Microsystems remarked, ”Sun has long supported the innovation and choice of the open source community. We’re looking forward to hosting thousands of developers and students for a couple days jam-packed with education, technology and exchange.”
The conference’s opening day keynote will be delivered by John Fowler, executive vice president of Systems, and Dave Douglas, senior vice president of Cloud Computing and Chief Sustainability Officer, Sun Microsystems. Expert-led technology sessions are open to attendees throughout the day, with the day closing with an evening reception from 6:00-7:00 p.m.
Building on its commitment to students, Sun is also providing free full conference passes for students to participate in the complete CommunityOne and JavaOne experience. Students will have full access to all general sessions, technology sessions, birds of feathers, and specially developed Java University classes, as well as the opportunity to network with leading-edge technologists from around the world.
